How Do I Balance AI With Learning?#
As mentioned in the How Do I Research? section, I will typically try to make sure I have a strong foundation in the new concept before I use AI to assist in work. I try to use AI as a tool to help speed up a process I believe I could do on my own, but would otherwise not have the time to complete in a given timeframe. I also make sure to practice traditional learning methods every day, e.g., reading books, peer reviewed articles, or solving problems, to keep myself from relying on AI to do too much of the legwork.
As for what I do when I come across issues or bugs in software, I typically do a deep dive into the documentation before I let AI solve any given problem. Additionally, I do daily problem solving activities through apps like SOLOLearn, Elevate, or Anki (spaced repetition), which helps keep me honest and connect new ideas to old ones.
