Used the Python package PHOEBE to model eclipsing binary, brown dwarf, and planetary systems by combining radial velocity data from the APOGEE surveys with light curve data from other surveys, such as TESS.
Developed and plotted models of eclipsing binaries using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method to optimize model parameters.
Applied statistical analysis to the results to draw insights and validate models.
Generated high-quality visualizations for effective communication of research findings in a written summary and poster presentation.
Research Assistant — Advisor: Dr. Sharmanthie Fernando 05/2019 – 05/2020 | Highland Heights, KY
Conducted literature review of peer-reviewed research papers.
Modeled massless particles orbiting a (2+1) dimensional charged black hole, using Mathematica.
Undertook research on Tensors for black hole study.
Presented my findings in a written summary and a poster presentation.
Research Assistant — Advisor: Dr. Sharmanthie Fernando 08/2018 – 05/2019 | Highland Heights, KY
Used Mathematica to plot and analyze two specific models that described the expansion rate of the universe.
Presented my findings in a written summary and a poster presentation.
